The Board of Control of Cricket in India (BCCI) has shortlisted the venues for the ICC T20 World Cup 2021. Choosing eight venues, the board says that the matter will be presented to the Annual General Meeting (ACG) for approval. Notably, the meeting has scheduled for 24th December.
Naming Ahmedabad, Chennai, Delhi, Mumbai, Mohali, Dharamshala, Kolkata, and Bangalore, the scenario has created dissatisfaction for a few members. They believe that too many venues can create issues in the ACG.
BCCI reveals venues for T20 World Cup 2021,
“It’s a matter of pride for every center to host World Cup matches. We have high-class stadiums and top facilities and we want the BCCI to consider our case as well. We are OK with the bigger centers hosting India matches. But at least give us some games. We will raise the issue at the AGM,” President of West Zone State Association said according to Indian Express.
Notably, India earlier hosted ICC World Cup 2021. The host team could not win as they were kicked out by the Caribbean in the semi-final. It is to note that the World Cup 2021 has stayed in India, whereas, the World Cup 2020 has moved to 2022.
