In the ongoing Quaid e Azam trophy (QeAT 2020-21), Central Punjab have beaten Southern Punjab in the match 29th to qualify for the final. Khyber Pakhtunkhwa have already qualified for the final and are now waiting for the CP for a battle in the final of the tournament.
SP, who won the toss, elected to bowl first and were thrashed in the chosen department. The thrilling CP blew their bowling and fielding smashing 493 runs losing only seven wickets and decided to declare.
Later, SP suffered another major blow as the CP bowling line-up thrashed them on a total of 187 runs in the first innings. SP, playing their second innings, could then made 368 runs and finally got a lead by 62 runs.
QeAT 2020-21: Central Punjab qualify for final
CP were strong enough to chase 62 as Mohammad Akhlaq and Mohammad Saad contributed 63-run-target slamming 38 (41), and 25 (18). Notably, the CP started their journey with back-to-back humiliations but got stable under Hasan Ali after the fifth round of the QeAT 2020-21.
